About us

Helping hands since 2005

Our team of therapists has been helping hands in the Hunter since 2005. We work with everything from hand and wrist injuries to nerve damage and osteoarthritis.

It’s easy to take our hands for granted. That’s why, when injury or illness is causing pain or restricting movement, it can have a big impact on someone’s life.

Not only can it become difficult to work or carry out basic tasks, but, even more importantly, it can prevent us from doing the things we love – whether that’s playing sport, mountain biking, needlework, gardening or looking after grandchildren.

We believe that with a tailored, holistic approach – one where our therapists, surgeons, GPs, and other professionals work together for the best interests of the patient – we can bring more hands back to lives.

We also believe in putting the power in the hands of our patients. When they seek help early, set the goals, and put in the work, the results can be pretty amazing.

By taking a holistic approach to rehabilitation, we can bring hands back to lives.

Our difference

Our clinical experience and personalised approach are what sets us apart from other hand therapists – it’s also what improves our outcomes.

On-site surgeons

We have two leading hand surgeons here on-site in our Newcastle clinic, as well as close working relationships with other surgeons across the Hunter. This means we can help organise timely consultations and access specialist advice for better patient outcomes.

Clinical expertise

All our therapists are members of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA). Our senior therapists are also Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC) certified. As a team, we’re committed to ongoing learning and use the latest evidence-based techniques.

To qualify for HTCC certification, therapists need a minimum of 3 years of experience and over 4,000 hours of direct practice.

Personal care

We see our patients not as numbers but as individuals. After listening to your issues and goals, we work to create a tailored program of treatment that not only enables recovery, but that fits your lifestyle. And, we’re here to guide you through the process.
